Recently, Amazon's US site released new regulations for FBA logistics packaging, involving the relaxation of outer packaging dimensions and an upgrade to the inbound freight calculation mechanism, which will have a significant impact on sellers' shipping, costs, and account security.
New Regulations Key Overview
1) Starting from June 20, 2025, the maximum outer box length for FBA has been relaxed from 25 inches to 36 inches (approximately 91.4 cm)
2) Starting from June 12, the "more refunds and less compensation" freight mechanism for FBA inbound shipments will be implemented, and improper declarations will be held accountable.

01 Outer packaging size relaxed: favorable for large item sellers
After the new regulations are implemented, the maximum length of the outer box for FBA inbound shipments at Amazon US has been relaxed from the original 25 inches (approximately 65.5 cm) to 36 inches (approximately 91.4 cm), facilitating the overall packaging of large items, reducing splits, and lowering transportation and storage costs.
Applicable scenarios: ✔ Large products such as furniture and fitness equipment ✔ Products that had to be split into smaller packages due to size limitations in the past

Although the box has increased in size, the "maximum single box weight is 50 pounds (approximately 22.68 kg)" remains unchanged, limiting the benefits for heavy cargo sellers.
02 Freight "more refund, less supplement": Strictly check the accuracy of declarations
Starting from June 12, 2025, Amazon will strictly compare the actual dimensions and weight of shipments with the seller's declared information:
Declared value is too low: Actual measurement exceeds, additional shipping fee required.
Declaration is too high: Actual measurement is lower, refund the difference
If discrepancies in declarations occur frequently, it not only increases additional costs but also affects account performance, with severe cases facing risks such as limited warehouse capacity and shipping obstacles.
Regardless of the mode of transportation: UPS, LTL, full truckload, whether the seller labels it themselves or the supplier operates, it is necessary to ensure that the declaration information is accurate.
03 FBA Standard Packaging Requirements
To ensure smooth entry into the warehouse and avoid returns and deductions, it is essential to comply with the following requirements:
1. Outer box material:
1) Complete six-sided cardboard box
2) Prohibit the use of open display boxes and direct shipping of sales packaging.
3) Prohibit the use of oversized shipping boxes or bundling multiple boxes.
2. Size and weight restrictions:
1) Length not exceeding 36 inches, width and height not exceeding 25 inches
2) The weight of a single box does not exceed 50 pounds (approximately 22.68 kg)
3. Over-specification requires labeling:
1) Overweight 50 pounds, attach "Multiple Person Handling" label
2) Overweight 100 pounds, affix "Requires Mechanical Handling" label
3) Exceptions apply only to single oversized items.
04 Practical Reminder: Sellers Must Do
